Nuhn’s Auto Supply formally Nuhn’s Auto Wreckers is a family owned and operated business opened in 1952 by James & Pearl Nuhn, Originally on highway #4 between Hanover and Durham. We moved in 1956 to Williamsford between Durham & Chatsworth.
About 1970 devastation hit as “fire” in the main shop with living quarters above the six car shop & storage burned. But that didn’t stop Nuhn’s Auto Supply we kept moving forward with mechanics, body man ,salesmen & yardman mostly family, brothers, sons, wife’s & daughters working side by side fixing cars getting used parts, towing ,selling used cars and pumping fuel at the gas pumps.
When they say lighting doesn’t hit twice in this case “fire” they are wrong! In 1980 another fire this time in the body shop. WOW still moving forward Hugh Nuhn bought Nuhn’s Auto Supply from James in 1987. With all the ups and downs our company continues to grow, still with family side by side, fathers, sisters, brothers, daughters & sons. Now battling the era of computers internet and cell phones!
